Well said, Mr. Foster. Appreciate you clarity and succinctly making it straight to the point.
I should clarify that the Little Red Hen is an old story with several variations (and a cartoon – youtube). I’m not sure who the original author is, but I used Ronald Reagan’s version from a radio address from the 70s between the time he was governor and president (Reagan In His Own Voice). He used the story to describe socialism in general but I applied it to the tax situation here in Guilford County.
I did not name Reagan when I spoke b/c I was afraid the target audience would close their ears to the truth of the story and dismiss it. Hopefully something sunk in.
